Opened in 2015, this revolutionary shopping centre called Retuna, one-hour drive from Stockholm, strives to be an ecological model.
The centre is located near a recycling plant, which provides it with raw materials:
- Users deposit their waste (materials, furniture, clothing, decorative objects or electronic devices) at the plant, whose employees first sort them.
- Then, the employees of the shopping centre refine the sorting and select the items to be repaired, recycled, converted and finally sold.
- In parallel, the shopping centre organises workshops, conferences and events around sustainability and circular economy.
